We have changed the way that XBMC is installed on Drodiplayer.
If you want to re-install the XBMC app onto your Droidplayer, then using our DP INSTALLER app will do this for you. The important thing to remember, is that you NO LONGER need to choose the option to ‘Install XBMC config package‘ after you have installed XBMC because our new XBMC app will download the config for you when you first run it. Please see below.
(For those with an RK3188 quad core please see here for updating)
Firstly, from Android home screen, go into SETTINGS > OTHER> MORE SETTINGS >APPS and find XBMC. Then inside XBMC choose CLEAR CACHE and then choose CLEAR DATA. This will remove the config you have at the moment.
Now, come back out to the Android home screen and turn off your box with the remote control and unplug it from the power supply for AT LEAST 10 SECONDS. This step is important as it clears instances of the previous config from the RAM
Now plug it back in, power up and from the Android home screen go into All Apps and open DP INSTALLER.
From here, scroll down and choose Remove XBMC
After removal, scroll down and choose ‘Install XBMC Gotham 13 (dual core)’ or (Quad Core). The install files are the same now for both Quad and Dual core so it doesn’t matter which Gotham 13 install you choose.
Follow the on screen instructions to install XBMC. Once completed, choose DONE, not OPEN.
Now you can exit DP INSTALLER. From here, just navigate to XBMC and open it. You will then be prompted to download the config (as if running for the first time)
If for some reason you still have XBMC Frodo 12.2 or do not have DP INSTALLER on your system, or it is older than version 2.1 please see these instructions for installing the update.
