Sometimes Kodi plays up, or you just get to the point that you have so many add-ons installed you want to press the reset button and start again.
We provide two ways to do this on Droidplayer, from inside Kodi and from outside Kodi.
From Inside Kodi
Scroll across to the MAINTENANCE tab and underneath choose CLEAN START or if you are using our new Kodi Estuary skin, go to ADD ONS and PROGRAM ADDONS and choose CLEAN START from the list available.
This will then give you the option proceed with the config erase. Doing this will completely wipe Kodi of all Add-ons, settings and favourites.
Kodi will then exit out to the main Android home screen. From here, choose Kodi again and it will open up with the ‘first start’ install screen where you can choose the type of config you want
From Outside of Kodi
If you can’t start Kodi, or you are using the ‘basic’ Kodi install, you will need to manually wipe the Kodi data to start again. This is very easy
Step 1: From the Android home screen, go to SETTINGS > OTHER > MORE SETTINGS
Step 2: Scroll down to APPS
Step 3: From here, move to the right hand window that shows the list of Apps and scroll down to Kodi
Step 4: Go into Kodi and choose FORCE STOP, then choose CLEAR CACHE and lastly choose CLEAR DATA. ***DO NOT CHOOSE UNINSTALL!
Step 5: Now press the RETURN button on your remote or press HOME button
Step 6: Turn off your box using the remote, unplug from the power for 10 seconds and plug back in
Step 7: Once on the home screen, start Kodi and choose to install.
i pressed uninstall screen blank what do i now please advise
Hi, If you uninstalled the app, you will need to reinstall the whole firmware to get our version of Kodi back. The guide only gives instructions to CLEAR DATA and CLEAR CACHE.
If you accidentally click install, will running a factory reset through the settings on the box get the Kodi back on the box or will it make things even worse?
Running factory reset wont remedy the issue. For just Kodi, click CLEAN START on the Kodi menu and it will install a clean version of the config. To get a brand new version of the Kodi APK itself, do a SD card install from our firmware blog post
I want to upgrade to Kodi 16 can I do this?
I have followed the instructions and now find I cannot download gs it says not connected to internet but the box is connected and I don’t know what to do, have already been in touch with your webpage and as yet no-reply
Hi, sorry to hear. Can you reinstall the firmware from our firmware page? https://www.gostreamer.com/how-to/installing-android-firmware-for-all-gostreamer-models/
I have a Mac- how do I get rid of the build outside of kodi
Not sure how this is done on a Mac. Search for the Kodi data folder perhaps. Sure there will be a how to somewhere that shows this on the internet
